We Need You, Lord

We need you, Lord.

Like lost wanderers in a burning, empty desert

thirst for cool, clean water,

we long for you to quench us.

In a world gone progressively mad,

with chaos all around us,

we seek refuge in the order and purpose of your law.

With evil sneaking, leaking everywhere,

spreading heavy darkness,

creating feelings of emptiness,

we hunger for your goodness and light.

Turn us around, Lord, we pray;

retrieve your sheep who have gone astray.

Draw us to the satisfaction

of your purity and righteousness.

Cleanse us, and make us more like you,

role models, examples, beacons,

for others who are searching for meaning for their lives.

Come, Lord Jesus.

We need you, Lord.

They lie on the table, side by side The Holy Bible and the TV Guide. One is well worn, but cherished with pride (Not the Bible, but the TV Guide) One is used daily to help folks decide. (Not the Bible: it's the TV Guide.) As the pages are turned, what shall they see Oh, what does it matter?...turn on the TV. Then confusion reigns, they can't all agree on what they shall watch on the old TV. So they open the book in which they confide (No, not the Bible.....it's the TV Guide.) ...

Friend, I don’t know your spiritual state. I don’t know if you have acknowledged and accepted the power of resurrection into your life. But I know that Christ is raised!!! These days Christians celebrate this big event that took place long time ago. How relevant is this all to you?

What is the weight of those words that will be said by many: Christ is raised!!! What do they actually have to do with you?? Can you be honest with yourself for once and look down deep inside yourself and ask this question? Does resurrection of Christ mean anything to you?

You might find honesty in yourself and admit that this celebration and those words seem kind of empty to you. You might agree on the fact that all this seems too formal and not real. It all seems to you like everyone is just being religious about it.

I want to tell you that all this is very real. Christ’s resurrection is everything. It’s the closing caption and the highlighted part of the plot of salvation for human kind. It’s the most powerful act done by Christ on this earth. If Christ wasn’t raised from the dead then the church, her ministries, the communion, and missionary work would all be pointless.

If you don’t feel the power of resurrection in your life and if you don’t understand the true meaning of it and it’s not dear to you, it’s not close to your heart so that you feel part of it… you are missing the point. You are missing Him. You are outside of Christ. You don’t know Him.

Yes! You go to church, you sing Christian songs, and you think you pray once in a while. I’m sorry to inform you but my friend you are spiritually dead and are heading for hell.

You see… To know the power of resurrection and to have it dear to your heart and to have it something so glorious and significant to you is one of the indicators that show you are saved. It’s the indicator that tells the spiritual world that you know Christ and you are in Him. It’s the indicator that tells you are born again.

There is a true power behind Christ’s resurrection. This power gives you the strength to overcome sin here on this earth. It also gives you assurance that if you are in Him you will be raised from the dead on the last day when He returns to earth. If you don’t know Him personally then you will be left for the judgment day, and on that day you will be condemned to hell, forever. If His resurrection doesn’t matter to you much and you don’t find glory in it then your Christianity is pointless.

When Christ was here on the Earth he spoke very powerful words to Martha:

Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live… John 11:25

My friend, come to Christ and repent of all your sins. Give your life over to Him. Tell him that you don’t understand the whole point of His resurrection and would like to know and take part in it. Tell Him that you want Him to be the Lord over your life.

May these days of Easter become the days of your regeneration and the beginning of a new walk with Christ who is THE RESURRECTION!!!

I found this article and thought that it might be useful for you to read it. Reading it, I was astonished on how vividly the author explains the current spiritual state of Christianity in our days…

Let's not allow the enemy to distract us...

Satan called a worldwide convention. In his opening address to his evil angels, he said, "We can't keep Christians from going to church. We can't keep them from reading their Bibles and knowing the truth. We can't even keep them from conservative values. But we can do something else. We can keep them from forming an intimate, abiding relationship experience in Christ. If they gain that connection...

It is time for us to celebrate Christmas. The streets are filled with colorful lights and in the windows of people’s houses; you are able to catch a warm glow coming from their fireplaces. You cannot miss the Christmas trees which are placed by the windows, exactly where they can be seen from the outside and at the same time add to the Christmassy theme- interior design- on the inside.

The cold breeze outside gives chills to the people who are hurrying into the mall to purchase gifts for their loved ones. Lines to the cash registers are miles long. The hustle environment gives shoppers...

It’s the time of the year when we’re celebrating Thanksgiving to our Lord. He deserves so much. Oh, how forgetful we are sometimes to thank Him for His grace, mercy, and love.

Have you ever thanked God for who He is? Have you ever thought about the fact that things could have been very different if our God wasn’t the God that He is? Our God made the universe; He made all the planets, the moons, the galaxies. He made you so He can have this intimate relationship with you and fulfill your life with great wonders that come only from His essence.

Where are you in this great picture of God’s perspective? You know only His perspective...

imageSometimes we are “too busy” serving Christ and not noticing the people around us who might really need help. Sometimes we are “too busy” making sure we get the best seat in the church and not wonder about the beggar who just walked in looking for someone to show him the way. Many times we like the things to go our way and if they don’t we get upset. Is it possible to serve Christ from the bottom of your heart and be so ignorant towards others?  I came across this story and it made me think…

Imagine……

(He was found guilty and subjected to punishment for secretively gathering with few other believers to pray and study God’s word.)

It’s the year of a political turn point. Many churches closed because they disagreed with the unbiblical laws that the government begin to enforce regarding freedom of religion. New laws came out which placed restrictions on Christians. All churches are to be registered. All pastors and leaders of any church should have a document that permits them to do any type of church activity. Gathering for fellowship, bible studying, or prayer is strictly forbidden by law and is punished with fines and jail time....

Are you living in a fantasy? You might think that this is a very strange question to ask but let’s look at this. Our mind is a very powerful processor that enables us to run our life uniquely and differently from those around us. We all dream of something and always try to have goals set before us.

“For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content.” 1st Timothy 6:7-8 (NKJV)

clip_image002[6]

Contentment (satisfaction in what you have) is a big deal when you are a Christian. Bible speaks very clearly on the importance of being content. Us, living in a prosperous country where we have everything, from luxurious cars to overfilling refrigerators; from nice expensive houses to fine boats, we are more in relation to this matter.

When making a comparison to the the rest of the people living in this world, we are considered to be the wealthy part of it. Being discontent, always wanting more and not being thankful to God for giving us what we have, will create problems for us now in the present and in the future.

Why is it so hard to be content? Does comparing yourself with others has anything to do with this?

As Christians, we need to live our life in purity. We need to hold ourselves away from the filth of this world. Purity is a key to many spiritual doors. Keeping ourselves in purity- will bring us closer to understanding the holiness of our God and will help us to maintain a closer relationship with Him.

Interesting Fact

Voltaire, the French philosopher was an ethist, threatened that he will see to the destruction of the Bible and its removal from the face of the earth. What happened is that the Bible Society bought the house where he was born after his death and today that building is one of the biggest sales centers of the Bible.
